What can I use to stick cardboard letters to handmade paper?
Q. I've used rubber cement in the past, but it is not sticking to the cardboard letters or the paper at all. Any suggestions?

A. I've used spray adhesive (3M or similar brand) on projects where "glue" doesn't stick. Just make sure you don't buy temporary adhesive, unless you want to move the items tomorrow...

How to get rid of cardboard without damaging wall or new drywall?
Q. Here is the situation, Im in a dorm, we broke through the drywall and knocked the wall mounted door stop into the wall because it was not installed near enough (or over) the stud. I have used mud in the hole, placed a peice of cardboard over to hold it in. After the mud dries im going to need to get the cardboard out... any ideas on how to do this without destroying the new drywall? Yeah... as corky pointed out, i did it incorrectly... knowingly too.. basically im under a time constraint and made do with the materials i had. This feels sort of like a "worst cas scenario" question.

A. You probably should have put a piece of waxed paper over the hole and the cardboard on top of the waxed paper. That way the waxed paper wouldn't stick to the plaster. The usual method of repairing a hole in plaster board is to put a support piece behind the wallboard rather than try to get mud to hang in a hole that size and support it from the front. You can probably just carefully tear off the cardboard, little by little and use a piece of fine sandpaper to smooth out any imperfections remaining, then paint.

How can I make a really good slingshot that can make with only rubber bands, cardboard, and hot glue?
Q. How can I make a really good slingshot/catapult with only an 8-b-8 piece of cardboard, 2 cardboard paper towel rolls, 10 rubber bands which equal to 40 inches when not streached, and glue (includes hot glue but not Teflon!) The projectile will be a regular ping pong ball. The projectile's goal in to go really far in distance. Thank you SOOO much to whoever answers!
Asked by Me :) - Fri Oct 19 13:48:11 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 1. Connect the paper towel tubes to form one long "gun barrel". 2. Cut the tube in half long wise, and use it as a rail to guide the ball. 3. Cut a base from the cardboard slightly longer than the tube. 4. Make triangular braces for the tube, that creates a tube-to-table angle of 45*. The braces will have a hole in the middle slightly bigger than the ping pong ball's diameter. 5. Glue the outside of the tube to the inside of the hole in the braces, then glue the braces to the cardboard base. 6. Connect the top of the rubber bands to the top of the tube, stretch the rubber bands through the tube to the bottom. Place the ball on the rubber tube, and let go. The rubber band will pull the ball through the tube, and shoot it out. … [cont.]
