The museums of ancient times, such as the Musaeum of Alexandria, would be equivalent to a modern graduate institute. From Wikipedia under the

In museums or art galleries, there are a lot of great art works. It would be amazing when you view them. But a lot of great museums or galleries have high price tickets, which limit the opportunities of people to access these wonderful things. Sometimes, viewing great art works becomes the particular right of rich people. So I think it should be free for people to visit it. To answer this question, I say do as we do: art museums many times have a side door or even a resturaunt or cafe' that has a side entrance, and many times you can just walk right into the gallery or museum without a ticket, but if you get caught, well, you'll just be kicked out. Just say you didn't know, if you can get in that way then they probably hear that all the time as it is. It was recently rebuilt to state of the art standards. It includes a very large aquarium and a planetarium.
